- The following information based on a correspondence with Danish medieval textile historian Camilla Luise Dahl:
There was a Hans Willadsen Guldsmed who, according to the "Danske Domme", was a "Borger" (Burgher) and "Guldsmed" (goldsmith) in N?stved in 1550 (as mentioned in N?stved Museum's annual journal "Liv & Levn", vol. 4, page 12). Possibly he is the father or grandfather of J?rgen Hansen Guldsmed (died c.1604)?
Another Hans Willadsen Guldsmed (possibly a grandson of the above Hans Willadsen?) is mentioned in the N?stved Tingb?ger of 1590-92, 1604 and 1610. In Glums? Church there is an alter chalice made by him dated 1597. There's a very fragmented tombstone from St. Peder Church in the N?stved Museum's basement storage which was found in 1978, it is not on display and does not appear in "Danmark's kirker". It was in several pieces and has now been restored - it shows Hans Willadsen Guldsmed and his wife Anneke Lauridsdatter, and tells us that he died the 9th of April 1616, wife was still living. It also shows that they had at 2 sons who died young: Laurids (died 158x - the last digit is gone), and Willads (died 1590). The living son, Willads Hansen Guldsmed, must have been born after 1590.
Hans Willadsen Guldsmed may possibly be the brother of Sidse Willadsdatter of N?stved. A gravestone in N?stved's St. Peder Church shows that Sidse was first married to Jacob Kr?mmer (died 1576), and second to Anders Nielsen (died 1620), a mayor of N?stved.
A probate dated November 8, 1630 from Vordingborg for the deceased Abel Lauridsdatter, who had died around 1625, informs us that she was married to Hr. J?rgen Madsen Braad, the priest for Vordingborg's Vor Frue parish. That same year J?rgen left for Sk?ne, and before he left he married Susanne Eilersdatter, the daughter of mayor Eilert Jacobsen.
Abel Lauridsdatter was the sister of Hr. Jacob Lauridsen, the priest for Herlufsmagle; he and a Willads Hansen Guldsmed invited the town council to the probate of 1630. Willads Hansen seems to have been there on behalf of the children, which unfortunately aren't mentioned by name. This would seem to suggest that Willads Hansen Guldsmed was related in someway the deceased Abel Lauridsdatter. Willads is referred to as being "of N?stved" and is described as a "burgher from N?stved". Possibly the reason that Willads Hansen appears in the 1630 probate is because his mother Anneke Lauridsdatter was Abel Lauridsdatter's sister?
Willads Hansen Guldsmed had two sons, one named "S?ffren" (S?ren) and and another named Hans Willadsen. Hans Willadsen does not seem to appear in any records in N?stved. Likewise, S?ren Willadsen Guldsmed also doesn't appear in any N?stved records, but he does show up in various probates in Vordingborg where he is mentioned as a burgher. For instance, he is mentioned in a probate dated September 5, 1638 wherein the town council appointed him as a guardian. S?ren Willadsen Guldsmed died in 1641, he was married to Bodil J?rgensdatter, who later married Peder Madsen, a "kr?mmer" (shopkeeper) in Vordingborg. S?ren's probate is dated August 28, 1641 and shows that S?ren and Bodil had two children: Willads S?rensen Guldsmed and Anne S?rensdatter.
Bodil J?rgensdatter died just two years later, her probate is dated July 24, 1643: which tells us that her two children with S?ren are younger than 12 years old, and that she had a son by her new husband, named S?ren Pedersen. In a later addition to the probate another hand has written the date September 24, 1663, stating that Anne S?rensdatter is now married, and her husband has negotiated with her guardian over her inheritance; unfortunately the name of her husband is not mentioned.
