- Sigvard Mahler Dam on his website writes (as of October 18, 2011):
Peder Torkildsen (born circa 1405) may be the son of the hypothetical Torkild Uf. His seal can be found on the same Hammershus ruling of November 7, 1433 as his putative brother Mogens Torkildsen, wherein he is called "Per Th?rkils?n aff wapne" (Peder Torkildsen of arms - ie. a squire) and his seal is shown in A. Thiset's "Danske Adelige Sigiller", which places it under "ubestemmelige v?benm?rker M. 85 (indeterminate crests M. 85"). Around the shield can only be read "......kilson". In this case, one might call it "an indefinable arms" - unfortunately I have not seen it myself, since today with a good photographer and enlargements you can see details that Thiset could not see, but with a little generosity find that the worn mark resembles a distorted version [utilizing curved, rather than straight lines, for the triangle and cross - Norman Lee Madsen, October 18, 2011] of Mogens Torkildsen's seal (only without the shield). A "Pether Thorkildss?n" also pledged allegiance to the archbishop in 1443.
Peder Torkildsen is probably the father of Mogens Pedersen and Otte Pedersen Uf. Peder Torkildsen and his wife must have owned Store Halleg?rd in ?ker, which their presumed son Mogens Pedersen describes as his hereditary farm.
On June 17, 1493, Mogens Pedersen sold his hereditary farm, Store Halleg?rd in ?ker parish, to squire Peder Lang of Vall?se. The farm was occupied by a peasant named Morten Olsen. His seal is under the document and is very similiar to Mogens Torkildsen's seal.
Store Halleg?rd was one of the largest of the farms held by the nobility on the island, so Mogens Pedersen must have been a wealthy freeman. Since the farm was managed by a peasant, we can conclude that Mogens Pedersen owned at least one more free-farm, where he lived. The Bornholm knight Niels Aagesen of the Sparre-family was his witness for this sale. Possilby Mogens Pedersen no children, and this is perhaps why he sells some of his estate.
