- The 1845 census of Nyker lists a Lars Larsen, 23 years old, a farm-worker at 14 Vdg., single and born in ?sterlars parish. Every indicates that this is the correct person. The census also shows another Lars Larsen, 40 years old, married to Kirstine Lyster; he is more than likely to be the out-of-wedlock father, since he would have been 18 years old in 1823.
Lars Larsen was a married man when he fathered the out-of-wedlock child Laurits Andreas Mogensen, and we can see that Laurits was given his mother's surname.
The only Lars Larsen shown in the 1850 census of Klemensker was 28 years old and born in ?sterlars; he was married to a Dorthea Hartvig, born in R?nne. They had two daughters: Laurensie Dorthea Hartvig, 3, and Karoline Christine Hartvig, 2. The family can not be found in the 1855 census, so they must have moved from Klemensker parish.
