Claus Kofoed Hansen and Elisabeth Gabrielsdatter Akeleye had one son, who died as an infant. In the old ?stermarie church there hung a banner, on which were marked the "Ko Fod" (Cow-Foot) image and the following commemorating the death of Claus Kofoed Hansen:
"Herunder hviler hans kongelige Majsts til Danmark og Norge bestalter Major Claus Kofoed f?d den 7de Juli 1663, d?d den 11te Febru. 1743 i hans Alders 80 Aar". (Here under rests his royal Majesty of Denmark and Norway commissioned Major Claus Kofoed, born on July 7th 1663, died on February 11th 1743 in his elderly 80th year.)
