- The name "Borringholm" is the old danish spelling of "Bornholm". Laurids Christensen (c.1632-1671) was a student in Lund, Sk?ne in 1656; which is probably where he first became known by the name Borringholm. Clergyman for ?stermarie parish from November 9, 1660 until his death in 1671 at 39 years of age. Edvard Skovgaard in "1000 Aner til en Skovg?rdssl?gt" (1989) states that S?ren Laursen Borringholm (c.1646-1717) is probably the son of Laurids Christensen Borringholm (1600-April 29, 1671) and "Inger Larsdatter Weile". However, given the correct birth year of c.1632, it is more likely that S?ren is the step-son of Laurids Christensen Borringholm.
